HARRISBURG – Presenting how Allegheny County’s Primary Election Day polling place consolidation plan violates both the letter and spirit of the law, members of the Allegheny County Republican House delegation called on Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathryn Boockvar to reverse her approval. Speaker Turzai, Members of the Allegheny County Delegation Ask Secretary of Health to Allow Hospitals to Open in Allegheny County

HARRISBURG – Speaker of the House Mike Turzai, joined by members of the Allegheny County House delegation, sent the attached letter to Dr. Rachel Levine, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, requesting she allow hospitals and health systems in the Allegheny County area to reopen to allow for the treatment of COVID-19 patients as well as the pre-planned, medically necessary surgeries that are currently being prevented.

Seven School Districts Awarded School Safety Grants, Ortitay Says

HARRISBURG — The School Safety and Security Committee, of which Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) is a member, today awarded about $53.7 million in School Safety and Security Grants to school districts, vocational schools, intermediate units and charter schools across the state.
