Ortitay Secures Grants for Projects in the 46th District

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) today announced he secured $738,030 in Local Share Account (LSA) grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for five projects in the 46th Legislative District.
Act 71 of 2004 provides for the distribution of LSA gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects of public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
“I worked closely with our local officials to help get these projects across the finish line,” Ortitay said. “They address real needs in our communities, from infrastructure and public safety to redevelopment, and this funding will make a difference people can actually see.”
Municipalities receiving funds are:
• Canonsburg Borough – $294,000 to transform a former middle school into a cultural and educational institute.
• Canonsburg Borough – $225,000 to replace and construct crosswalks on Pike Street.
• Houston Borough – $94,030 to repair and stabilize erosion of Chartier’s Creek near Houston Ballfield Park.
• South Fayette Township Municipal Authority – $50,000 to purchase a combination jetter/vactor truck in order to operate and maintain sewage collection and conveyance systems.
• Washington County Redevelopment Authority – $75,000 to replace a fire panel and install security cameras at Canon Apartments.
The 46th Legislative District includes South Fayette Township and McDonald and Oakdale boroughs in Allegheny County. It also encompasses Cecil, Chartiers, Mt. Pleasant and North Strabane (Districts 6,7,8 and 9) townships and Canonsburg, Houston and McDonald boroughs in Washington County.
