HARRISBURG – Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Allegheny/Washington) announced today $8.5 million has been awarded for critical improvement projects in the 46th Legislative District through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). This funding aims to enhance local infrastructure and support economic growth in the region.
“Today’s announcement is a significant boost for our community, providing essential resources to projects that will directly benefit residents,” said Ortitay. “These investments will improve health care facilities, enhance educational resources and promote sustainable economic development. I am excited to see the positive changes these projects will bring to the 46th District.”
The funding will support the following initiatives:
•
T&R Properties Inc.: $4 million for excavating and grading 250 acres of forest-covered land, along with the installation of basic infrastructure, including water, gas, electricity, and onsite road construction for the Cool Valley II development.
•
Canonsburg General Hospital: $2.5 million to temporarily relocate the existing helipad and heliport to accommodate new construction. This project will involve site preparation, new traffic signal installation, and the construction of a combined structure housing hospital and medical office functions.

Canonsburg Education and Cultural Institute Inc.: $1 million for the acquisition and renovation of the campus and former middle school, which includes a gymnasium, pool, auditorium, and various classroom and office spaces.
•
Blue Sky Acquisition, LLC: $1 million for the Newbury Market Environmental Remediation Project. The funds support all site work and grading, offsite traffic improvements, and the installation of an underground stormwater collection system.
RACP is a Commonwealth grant initiative managed by the Office of the Budget, dedicated to supporting the design, acquisition, and construction of projects that stimulate regional economic, cultural, civic and recreational development.
